2019 saw the redesign and prototyping of a guitar that I last built many years ago. In its new form, the Aura takes many of my more recent building techniques found on the Evo and other models and marries them with a tried and tested form. In combination with the Ergo neck joint, the wider and slightly deeper treble cut away makes for easy access to all the upper frets. The pickup cavity routing allows for a single coil in the mid position and any combination of humbucker, P90 or single coil in the neck and bridge positions while eliminating the need for a bath tub cavity. Hand selected tonewoods are used throughout and many material and hardware options are available to help achieve a desired goal. The Aura is available in both 25.5″ and 25″ scale lengths.

The Aura is built with a maple bolt on neck as standard with other timbers and multi-laminate options available. Like the Sage, the Aura has a flat or paddle headstock but eliminates the need for string trees through the use of staggered tuner post heights (not available with all tuner options). The Ergo three bolt neck joint features a slip tenon which eliminates the tendancy of sideways neck movement. Steel threaded inserts and stainless steel bolts anchor the neck to the body for great energy transference and improved sustain.

Many custom build options are available, and advice is always on hand for those wanting to specify a unique and personal guitar. All Aura necks are reinforced with dual carbon fiber bars as well as a two-way truss rod for fine neck relief adjustments. The standard Aura neck features a 10″-14″ conical radius fingerboard though other radii are available. The Aura is loaded with pickguard mounted pickups as standard and many wiring options can be accommodated. Available in either fixed bridge format, vintage six screw or modern floating tremolo.
